William
Fox-Pitt, who is having a terrific Spring, with wins at the Saumur CCI*** as well
as Badminton, still leads after the Second Day of Dressage,
though
barely. Eight competitors moved ahead of Jeanette Brakewell, the overnight second.
The best of these eight was Terry Boon, who now sits just .2 of a penalty off
the leader. Terry rides Foreigh Exchange. (William and Moon Man are pictured
at the left, in the Dressage Phase at the Mitsubishi Badminton CCI****, in May.)
Lucy
Weigersma riding Friday Feeling has moved into third on 45.4, four faults adrift
of the Saumur and Badminton Champion.
Cindy
Rawson, the lone competitor from the USA, stands 9th on 51,8 with The
Gatecrasher, the horse she rode at Windsor, two weeks ago.

William
Fox-Pitt, the reigning Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Champion, riding Moon Man,
leads the Guardian Collection Bramham CCI*** after the first day of Dressage.
William entered and rode Moon Man at this year's Badminton
CCI****,
which was plagued with nearly constant rain. The going was, of course, effected
by the weather and became very holding and tiring. Moon Man simply spit out the
bit at the Quarry, which was the third complex from home. After two refusals,
William retired Moon Man. This pair leads Bramham on a score of 41.4. (William
and Moon Man are pictured at the right during the Dressage Phase, at the Mitsubishi
Motors Badminton CCI****, earlier this season.)
William's
teammate for Athens, 2004, Jeanette Brakewell, stands second riding Highland Spirit
on 55.8, giving William a nearly unprecedented lead of 14.9 faults.
Caroline
Powell is third with Ballycathro on 56.6.
Canada's
Peter Grey currently is placed 30th with Balladeer Ted on 72.4.
