Groton House Farm II, June 25 - 27, 2004

Advanced Intermediate

27 competitors began the Advanced Intermediate Competition at the Groton House Farm II Horse Trials on Friday, June 25th.

After the Cross Country on Saturday, Jessica Moore and Fibber Magee were in the lead. This pair, fourth after Dressage, on a score of 29.13, had the second fastest time Cross Country for 4.8 time faults, and vaulted into the lead on a score of 33.93. (Jessica and Fibber Magee are pictured at the right competing at the Foxhall Cup CCI***, 2004. David O'Connor and Outlawed, his Foxhall CCI*** winner, last April, and nominee to the Athens Olympic Games Short List, are in second place. They stood third after Dressage, on 26.52 and moved up to second, after Cross Country, with 8 time faults, for a score of 34.52, a mere .59 of a fault out of the lead.

Corinne Ashton and Dobbin are in third place with a score of 38.47. They added 7.6 time faults to their sixth place Dressage score of 30.87.

Mark Weissbecker, riding Swayne, is fourth on 40.24 (7.2 time faults), while Laine Ashker, with Eight Saint James Place, rose from 17th after Dressage to fifth on 41.74 with the only double clear Cross Country.

Five members of the Athens Olympic Short List competed at Groton House II, along with two Alternates. Their scores and placings after Dressage were:

*Windfall had a refusal at the first element of the water.
