Landholt (SUI) riding MacIntyre leads the CCI** on a score of 42.0. Peter
Laidlaw (GBR) stands second with River Rose on 43.0, a mere 1 fault adrift of
the leader. Ireland's Lt. Geoff Curran with Kilmessan is in third place on a score
of 49.40. Karen

Gallant's Miller is 21st on 59.4. There
are 46 competitors in this Division. *

Hoy (AUS) with Moonfleet leads the CIC/OC*** on 42.5 from Kiwi Blyth Tait
riding Eze (45.0) and Susanna Bordone (ITA) with Buehler (49.2). Abigail
Lufkin (USA), fresh
from a 5th place finish at the Saumur CCI*** with Better I Do It, is in 11th place
on a score of 60.2. Ab would be trying to qualify Better I Do It for the Olympic
Games. There
is an unofficial team competition in this Division. The standings after Dressage

* * * * * Thursday, June 3rd, The First Day of Dressage CCI*** The 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games Individual Gold
Medalist, New Zealand's Blyth Tait, now 43 years old, leads the Punchestown CCI***
after the first day of Dressage with his Atlanta partner, the now 16 year old
Ready Teddy, on a score of 46.8. Blyth is trying to qualify for the Athens Games
this August. He and Ready Teddy also won the Individual Gold Medal at the 1998
World Equestrian Games at Pratoni del Vivaro, Italy. Blyth was also the Individual
World Champion at the first WEG, in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1990. Great Britain's Lucy Wiegersma stands second
with Shaabrak, on 48.8. Polly Stockton (GBR) and Lucinda Fredericks (AUS)
are tied for third with scores of 50.8. The highest placed Irish rider is Sasha Harrison
with Ambrose, in 9th place on a score of 56.4. The top six after Thursday are: 1. Blyth Tait (NZL), Ready Teddy - 46.8 2.
