Visits The Horse Park on Easter Weekend
Here
are a few pictures to whet your appetite for the opening of the Rolex-Kentucky
CCI**** on Wednesday, April 21, 2004.
Here
it is! - the new covered grandstand. It does seem huge! The first thing Ted and
I thought of was the football stadium at Penn State. Well, it's not quite that
big - - - -; but, it is large. We spoke with Nigel Casserly, the announcer for
Rolex, who was there setting up the loud speakers for the sound system for the
new stands. Apparently, the large covered seating presents special sound problems
all of which Nigel should have under control by opening day.
Here
is a photo of the "endless trade fair". It makes one feel like rushing
to the nearest cash machine and withdrawing EVERYTHING!
Just think of the
goodies that will be available under this never ending "big top"!
What
do you suppose is
going
on here? Of course you recognize The Bank; but, what are all those cars, trucks
and people doing? Why it is the Cross Country Decorating Crew, headed by Sheila
Woerth. They start working more than ten days ahead of time. Many of them are
landscapers. They also decorate the Dressage Arena, the Trade Fair and the Media
Center. Everything that will be put out on Cross Country will be brought into
the Stadium, late Saturday afternoon, for the Sunday Show Jumping. Now it has
been revealed why everything always looks so fabulous at Rolex!
