**According to Horse & Hound - 15 January, 2004, Rodney Powell's Mount Mahor Sweep, who placed 24th at Burghley, 2003, " ... tested positive in a routine drug test at Burghley Masterfoods Horse Trials last September.

"Peter Durand, BE chairman, confirmed that traces of Betamethasone and Phenylbutazone (bute) were found in a sample taken by the FEI.

"The matter will be dealt with at an FEI judicial meeting in March, when Powell will be invited to give veterinary evidence.

"Powell was aware that Betamethazone (an anti-inflammatory steroid that can be injected into joints) had been administerd, but says that it was done so according to FEI guidelines. But the presence of bute remains a mystery."
