Mulberry
Insurance Services Aston Le Walls
The
final outing for many Olympians will take place July 23 - 24 at Anne (Hardaway,
a US Olympian at Seoul, on 1988, with Tarzan) and Nigel Taylor's Event, the Mulberry
Insurance Services Aston Le Walls Horse Trials.
Among
those who will have a run are Phillip Dutton (AUS) with Nova Top
along with fellow Aussie Team member Andrew Hoy riding Mr. Pracatan (Phillip
and Nova Top are pictured at the right in the Show Jumping at Rolex-Kentucky,
where the placed 2nd in the CCI****. Ted Cushny Photo.). The following Australian
Olympic Team Reserves are also entered: Andrew Hoy and Moon Fleet; Sammi
McLeod with Enchanted II; Sam Griffiths on Private Colin and Matt
Ryan riding Bonza Puzzle.
Among Individuals entered are Olympic host country Greece's Heidi Antikatzidis,
who will bear a heavy burden as the only Greek in the Olympic Eventing competition;
Bettina Hoy (GER) and Ringwood Cockatoo; Jaroslau Hatia
(CZE) on Kyrenejenallas Boy; Eddy Stibbe (AHO) with Dusky Moon and
Autimn Breeze III; and Carlos Grave (POR), who rides Laughton Hills.
All
the members of the New Zealand Team except Blyth Tait are entered: Andrew Nicholson
with Fenico and Lord Killinghurst; Heelan Tompkins on Glengarrick; Matthew
Grayling and Revo; and Dan Jocelyn riding Silence.
The
British team will also have a go: Jeanette Brakewell and Over To You: Sarah
Cutteridge with The Wexford Lady (Sarah is pictured below at the
left with the trophy she received for placing fourth at the Mitsubishi
Motors Badminton Horse Trials this spring.):
William Fox-Pitt riding Tamarillo; Pippa Funnell and Primmore's
Pride; and Leslie Law, but with Shear H2), not Shear L'Eau, his Team horse.
The
tree top British Alternates will also run: Mary King, already named as
the Travelling Spare, with King Solomon III; Polly Stockton riding Tangleman;
and Bumble Thomas on the Psephologist.
The
entire Irish Team is entered: Sasha Harrison and All Love du Fenaud; Susan
Shortt with Just Beauty Queen; Mark Kyle riding Drunken Disorderly;
Ed Gibney on Kings Highway; and Niall Griffin with Lorgaine.
The
Dressage and Show Jumping for these Olympic candidates will be on Friday, July
23rd. Their Cross Country will be on Saturday, July 24th.
