Individual Show Jumping, Wednesday, August 18th

KIM SEVERSON SAVES THE DAY!!!

After an incredibly emotional and Protest/Appeal filled afternoon and early evening, Kim Severson and Winsome Adante brought home the Individual Bronze Medal to the USA!

Amy Tryon rode her second Show Jumping double clear to finish seventh.

The Top Six after the Second Show Jumping are as follows:

Gold - Bettina Hoy (GER), Ringwood Cockatoo - 39.6 (4 faults )

Silver - Leslie Law (GBR), Shear L'Eau - 44.4 (0 faults)

Bronze - Kim Severson (USA), Winsome Adante - 45.4 (4 faults)

4th. Pippa Funnell (GBR) Primmore's Pride - 46.6 (4 faults)
5th. Jean Teulere (FRA),
Espoire de la Mere - 50.4 (4 faults)
6th. Hinrich Romeike (GER),
Marius (4 jumping 2 time)

Other Americans in the Individual Competition:

7th. Amy Tryon (USA), Poggio II - 51.0 (0 faults)
12th. Darren Chiacchia (USA), Windfall 2 - 60.6 (8 faults)

Nicholas Touzaint (FRA), the leader ever since the second day of Dressage, and his mount, Galan de Sauvagere, suffered a serious melt down and had 16 jumping faults and 3 time faults for a final score of 52.4 and 9th place - two places behind Amy Tryon. (Are we surprised with the emotion surrounding the protest, change of Team Medals, appeal and change of Team Medals again?)

More Details and story will be posted Thursday.
