About Us
Poplar Place Farm September Horse Trials,

Advanced

Becky Holder travelled all the way from Minnesota to compete in the Advanced section at Poplar Place. The long trip was made worthwhile as she finished first with the good moving grey gelding Courageous Comet. This pair won the Dressage (24.35), added 7 faults in the Show Jumping, and ran a double clear Cross Country for a final score of 31.35. (Becky and Courageous Comet are pictured at the right in the Dressage Phase at the Maui Jim Horse Trials, last July.

Johannah Dufort and Northlight placed second in the Advanced. Their eleventh place Dressage score of 38.26 was not outstanding; however, they had double clears in both the Show Jumping and Cross Country phases to finish on that Dressage score, 6.7 faults adrift of the winners. (Johanna and Northlight are pictured at the left jumping into the water in the Intermediate Division at the American Eventing Championships.)

Robin Bass riding Eliot III added only 2 time faults in Show Jumping to their ninth place Dressage score of 36.96 for a final score of 38.96 and third place.

Intermediate

Ashley Bailey-Classen and Ballyno won the Dressage and led all the way to win the Intermediate from Jonathan Holling and Direct Merger (43.17) and Jennifer Carter with Just Kidding (44.4).

Preliminary

Canada's Mike Winter, who placed first and second in the Preliminary Horse Section at the American Eventing Championships last weekend, won the Preliminary Section again this weekend, this time riding Holla Vetter to a score of 35.5.
