OLYMPIC CASE:
O'CONNOR
WAIVES APPEAL, PESSOA EARNS THE GOLD Last Friday 10 June 2005,
the FEI received an official waiver from Cian O'Connor's attorney, confirming
that he will not appeal the Judicial Committee's decision of 23 May 2005. Consequently,
the decision of the Judicial Committee on the disqualification of Cian O'Connor
(IRL) and Waterford Crystal from all the Jumping competitions of the
2004 Olympic Games in Athens is immediately enforced. The FEI has officially
informed the IOC, which will take care of redistributing the medals in cooperation
with the National Olympic Committees concerned. Modified results of the
Olympic Jumping Individual Competition are as follows: Gold:
Rodrigo Pessoa (BRA) and Baloubet du Rouet Silver:
Chris Kappler (USA) and Royal Kaliber
Bronze:
Marco Kutscher (GER) and Montender 2 Jumping Team competition: The
Irish Team is eliminated from the competition. Consequently, the Italian Team
moves up to 7th place. The Korean Team goes up to 8th place, and all
other teams classified below move up one place. Points counting for the
FEI/Gandini World Riders Rankings will be redistributed according to the new result
of the Olympic competitions. Note to the editor: the decision of
