following was written on Friday, June 17th: Hellö,
Well, as you all would guess Bettina is on top of the leader board. The Captain's
daughter, Zara, is in second and a nice German man or two are in third and four
(I think) and my friend Kim Severson in fifth. (Actually, Kim is tied for
fourth.) It was a very good day for the USA. Everyone put in
a super test. Jan followed Bettina and she nailed all her flying changes. Holly
held Damian together. Becky rode the pants off Comet. Will
and Natalie put in very solid tests. As we all know the cross country
is another test. I had a good walk around the course with Kim and Ed today. A
few new lines and now I know why Kim is so fast. I will tell you later in person
why. My family showed up today. My sister Margaret and her 3 kids, Ryan,
Samantha and Kyle. What a nice surprise, as Ed said. (Bonnie
and Jenga are pictured at the left jumping a skinny in the water. Photo
courtesy of the Luhmuhlen Web Site.) The weather looks great for
tomorrow. The day begins at 10:00am. I go as the lead off American at 10:30. Jenga
feels great. I will have to say again the Germans know how to put on
an event. They had a foal show tonight during our dinner. They were showing mares
and foals in hand. Super fun to watch. Keep your fingers crossed and knock wood
for all of us tomorrow. Talk soon, Bonnie
