
Beale
Wright Morris, of Middleburg, VA, died suddenly, in hospital, early on March 23,
2005. Beale was 34 years old. The cause of death is unknown.
Beale
was a well known event rider,
who finished both the Rolex-Kentucky CCI*** and the Burghley CCI*** several times.
Her best know advanced horse was Pathfinder, who placed third in the three star
at Lexington, in 1998. Beale's most notable recent finish was third at the Morven
CCI* last fall, riding In The Loop.
Beale
is survived by her husband, Neil Morris, the fifth leading steeplechase trainer,
in the USA, according to the National Steeplechase Association standings for 2004.
Neil trains for Kinross Farm, which was the NSA leading Owner, in 2004; and by
one son, Wright Morris, who is one year old.
Beale
is also survived by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. William "Bud" Wright of
Chesapeake City, MD; by one sister, Lucy who had her first child, a daughter,
the day after Beale's death - child has been named for Beale; and by her grandmother,
Mrs Richard C. duPont, the owner of the great handicap gelding Kelso, as well
as many other stakes winners - Mrs. duPont races under the name Bohemia Stable.
A
service for Beale will be held at Grace Church, The Plains, VA on Wednesday, March
30 at 3:00 PM. There will be a reception immediately following at the Church Parish
House.
