Advanced
Dressage Test "D"
Kim
Severson, the reigning Olympic Individual Silver Medalist, who had been tied for
4th place after Dressage, leads the Advanced Dressage Test "D" Division
with Linda Wachtmeister's Winsome Adante, on a score of 37.3. Kim
and "Dan" had the fastest Cross Country run of any of the competitors
in any of the three Advanced Divisions, for 4.8 faults for 12 seconds over the
Optimum Time. (Kim and Winsome Adante are pictured at the right jumping out
of the water.)
Nathalie
Bouckaert Pollard stands second with West Farthing. This pair had been 3rd after
Dressage and added 11.20 time faults to their Dressage Score of 30.4, for a two
day score of 41.60.
Corinne
Ashton and Dobbin are in third place on a score of 45.20, which includes 15.2
time faults Cross Country. They had been second after Dressage.
Michael
Pollard, the overnight leader with SS Jett, retired on course after a refusal
early on the course.

Advanced
Dressage Test "C", Division "A"
Wendy
Bebie, who had been 7th after the Dressage Phase, leads the Advanced Dressage
Test "C", Division "A" riding Phoenix, on a score of 51.2,
with 11.6
time
faults for 29 seconds over the Optimum Time. (Wendy and Phoenix are pictured
at the left jumping the fence in the water.)
Southern
Pines' home town hero, Will Faudree, is in second place with Nanki Doubleday's
Wild Frontier. Will had the fastest time of the Division and the second fastest
time of the day with the thoroughbred gelding who covers the ground well to pick
up 7.2 time faults for a two day score of 52.0.
Australia's
Phillip Dutton is in third place with Abigail Lufkin's gray gelding Don't Step
Back. Southern Pines is only Don't Step Back's second run in the United States
since he was imported from Ireland a year and a half ago. He had been tied for
12th after Dressage and added 11.20 time faults for a two day total of 59.7.
Amy
Tryon, a member of the USEF's 2004 Bronze Medal Olympic Team, who has recently
arrived in the East from her home in Washington State, decided not to run her
overnight leader My Beau Cross Country; however, she did place fourth with her
Athens Olympic ride Poggio II on a score of 59.70.

Advanced
Dressage Test "C", Division "B"
Stuart
Black and his 2004 Radnor CCI** winner Fleeceworks Starlight, who had been third
after the Dressage Phase, are in the lead in advanced Test "C",
Division
"B" on a score of 49.1 with 20 time faults. (Stuart and Fleeceworks
Starlight are pictured at the right jumping the "skinny" after the water.)
Hot
on Stuart's heels is Mark Weissbecker, who rode Swayne to a two day score of 49.8,
just .7 of a fault adrift of the leaders. Swayne's score includes 16.8 time faults
for 42 seconds over the Optimum Time.
Once
more the West Coast Olympian, Amy Tryon garnered a top placing - this time Amy
stands third riding Woodstock, who picked up 26 time faults for a two day score
of 53.8.
For
the third time in three Divisions, the overnight leader failed to finish. This
time Mara Dean retired Good Stuff on course after a run out at an early fence.

Phillip
Dutton and Bullet Card (34.50); Erin Contino riding Just Lyndi (38.50); and Ashley
Adams with Vaunted (44.0) lead sections of Intermediate.
