Saturday, October 1 -- Cross Country Day

The CIC*, Divisions I and II began on the dot of 7:30 AM as the first horse began Phase "A", and ended some four and a hald hours later, shortly after 12 Noon. When all was said and done the Leaders Boards looked like this:

Division I, CCI*:

1. Sonya Crampton (CAN),
Gorgeous George - 53.9 (DCXC, up from 3rd) (Sonia and Gorgeous George are pictured at the right below jumping off the Palisade.)
2. Ann Geoghegan, Black Ice - 56.1 (DCXC, up from 4th)

There were considerable numbers of scratches in the Advanced Division, for many reasons including, in spite of efforts by the Organizing Committee and the Course Designer, hard ground.

Advanced Division I:

1. Bobby Costello, Wild Delight - 40.8 (5.6 time XC) (Bobby and Wild Delight are pictured at the right below jumping into the last water.)

(Peter Green, tied for overnight leader riding Magical, did not run. Amy Barrington and Platinum, tied for 1st after Dressage did run and had 34 time faults and 60 jumping faults for 124.4 and 11th place. Mara Dean and Good Stuff, 3rd after Dressage, did not run.)
