Three Luhmuhlen CCI**** Talent Tour Members Place First, Second, and Third in the CIC***

Bonnie Mosser rode her Luhmuhlen CCI**** mount Jenga to win the CIC*** at Poplar Place Farm. Bonnie won the Dressage on a score of 40.4; added 3.6 time faults on the Cross Country; and had one rail in the Show Jumping for a final score of 48.0. (Bonnie and Jenga are pictured at the right jumping the corner in the water at the Foxhall CCI*** this spring.)

Nathalie Bouckaert Pollard, who also competed at Luhmuhlen, in June, rode West Farthing to third place in the Dressage on 48.6; picked up 1.2 time faults Cross Country and Show Jumped double clear for 49.8, just 1.8 faults adrift of the winners.

Becky Holder, a third member of the Luhmuhlen Talent Squad, and Courageous Comet were second after the Dressage; added 3.6 faults for 9 seconds over the Time Allowed - the exact same score as Bonnie and Jenga, in that phase; and pulled two rails for 8 faults in the Show Jumping to finish on a final score of 53.7.

Will Faudree, whose overseas experience this year was at the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton CCI****, placed fourth at Poplar Place with Antigua. His 7th place Dressage score of 56.7 started him at a disadvantage; however, Will was the only competitor in the CIC*** to finish on his Dressage score adding nothing in either the Cross Country or the Show Jumping phases. (Will and Antigua are pictured at the left jumping the fence out of The Lake at the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials this spring.)

Bonnie commented on her trip to Georgia:

"Just returned from a great weekend at Poplar Place Farm. Jenga and I won the CIC*** division. We rode the winning test on Friday, just 1 point ahead of Becky Holder. So going into cross country, Captain Mark Phillips quote of, "Bonnie was inexplicably slow." from my performance in Germany with the USEF Talent Tour will haunt me till I get it right. My goal on Saturday was to prove that that would not let me loose my position.

So, I was just fast enough to stay in the lead by 1 point. UGH! Jenga ran cross country very confidently and I had plenty of horse at the end. The CIC*** course ran a different track than the spring track. The second water had a sizable bounce in with a related distance up the water fall step to the dock. There seemed to be very little trouble on all the courses. They had a fun competitors party were I made my first Eventing singing debut. I gave Patsy Cline a run for her money singing "Crazy."

Sunday was a long day but a good one. I am very lucky in the fact that Jenga is a very clean jumper. Having had the 6th fence down gave me more reason to ride better. The rail down will always make Jenga jump higher, which is a good thing. Becky had two rails which dropped her to 3rd. Natalie jumped clean which put her right behind me again like at Over the Walls (in 2004). The win made the trip well worth it. Now Jenga can have a well deserved vacation."

Tiffani Loudon won the Advanced Test "C" with Above 'N' Beyond (47.6); from Will Faudree and his new ride Don't Dali (51.1) and Wendy Bebie and Phoenix (51.5).

Canada's Kyle Carter won the Open Intermediate with Madison Park (51.9). Missy Ransehousen was second riding Carlingford Taldi (54.7). Ralph Hill was third, as Bad Boy Billy had a three day score of 58.7.

Bobby Costello won the Open Preliminary riding Foolish Games (35.5).

Katlyn McMorris placed first in The YR/OP 0n Clifton Peekachu (29.3).

Editor's Comment: A propos of absolutely nothing, has anyone noticed the resemblence between Phillip Dutton, the great Eventing star, and Roger Federer, the great Tennis star? Have a look!
