Wednesday,
October 12 - The First Veterinary Examination

Sixty-seven
horses trotted up Wednesday afternoon at the First Veterinary Examination at the
Fair Hill International CCI***, in Maryland.
Three
horses were sent to holding: Damien, with Holly Hepp; Draco and Jennifer
Libby; and Leigh Mesher's My Beau. Damien and My Beau passed upon
re-examination. Draco did not pass.
Among
those in with a chance who passed the First Veterinary Examination were multiple
previous winners Bruce Davidson, who presented Jam as well as Joan
Bergman's, Debbie Furness' and Bruce's Little Tricky (Bruce and Little Tricky
are pictured at the right.); Australia's Phillip Dutton (AUS), the
defending champion, who trotted up Connaught and Hannigan, both of who belong
to Bruce Duchessois (Phillip and Connaught are pictured at the center below.);
and Karen O'Connor with Mr. and Mrs Richard Thompson's Upstage.
Others
who were highly thought of were Will Faudree and his and his parent's Antigua,
who comes off a recent win at the American Eventing Championships, and Bobby
Costello with Wild Delight, a winner at the Morven Park Park Horse Trials
two weeks ago.
Several
other competitors, besides Bruce and Phillip, presented more than
one horse. Buck Davidson will run Hyperlite, Private Treaty and Idalgo.
Emilee Libby brought Cahir and Special Excursion. Adrienne Iorio presented
Urban Legend and Better I Do It. Jonathan Holling trotted up Direct Merger
and Lion King II. Hilda Donahue (IRE) had Squire's Cap and Crestwood Michigan.
Mara Dean will run Good Stuff and Nicki Henley.

and Connaught are pictured above before the Ground Jury:

begin on Thursday morning at 9:00 AM. The Test Ride will be at 8:30 AM Thursday.
These times are correct and different from those posted on the Fair Hill International
