Pine Top Spring Advanced Horse Trials, Sunday, March 5th, Cross Country

Another perfect day greeted competitors at the Pine Top Srring Horse trials in Thomson, Georgia - cloudless skies, brilliant sunshine and temperatures in the high 60's.

Mara Dean, the overnight leader in Advanced Test C, did not run Nicki Henley Cross Country. This left the door wide open for Kim Severson and Royal Venture, who had the second fastest time of the section after Nathalie Pollard and West Farthing, who finished on their Dressage score. Kim also placed second in the Section with her Athens Individual Silver Medal ride and 2005 Rolex Kentucky CCI**** winner Winsome Adante. Advanced C Test:

Advanced Test A, Section 1:

1. Kristin Bachman, Gryffindor - 39.3 (3.2 time XC) (Kristin and Griffindor are pictured at the left jumping into the first water.)
2. Tiffani Loudon Meetze, Above N' Beyond - 42.5 (9.2 time XC)

Phillip Dutton, the overnight leader with House Doctor, incurred 22.4 time faults on Cross Country and dropped to 7th place. Kelli Temple and Paris, 2nd overnight, incurred 19.8 time faults on Cross Country and dropped tp 8th place.
