Leslie
Law (GBR) Makes His 2006 USA Debut a Winning One Great
Britain's Leslie Law, the Reigning Olympic Individual Gold Medalist, from the
Athens Olympic Games, in 2004, made his 2006 American debut a winning one as he
placed first in Open Intermediate Section "C" with his  Athens
mount Shear L'Eau. (Leslie and Shear L'Eau are pictured at the right in the
Dressage Arena at the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials last May.)
This pair won the Dressage, at Altoona, Florida, on a score of 30.7; dropped to
second place with two rails down in Show Jumping; and ran the second fastest time
of the Section on Cross Country to finish on 40.3, 3.3 faults ahead of Buck Davidson
and Private Treaty, who placed second. Lesley
also rode two horses in two Open Training Sections: Tabitha placed 13th on 40.5
after Dressage, and With A Rush placed 8th on 33.5 after Dressage. Both were withdrawn
after the Dressage Phase. Other
Sections of Open Intermediate were won by Darren Chiacchia on Huronia and Emilee
Libby with Cahir. Open
