About Us
Blenheim CCI***, Thursday Dressage

At the end of the first day of Dressage Pippa Funnell, one of Great Britain's star eventers who was left out of the WEG Team with Primmore's Pride, when he did not scan to the selector's satisfaction after coming back from a lay off, leads the Blenheim CCI*** after the first day of Dressage with Ensign on a score of 40.4. (Pippa and Ensign are pictured at the left in the Dressage Phase at Badminton last May.)

Ensign fell at the Hay Wagon at the Badminton CCI****, in May, with Pippa, who first said that Ensign had been distracted by a photo camera on a four wheeler, and later admitted that it had been she who had been distracted. Since then Ensign has placed 11th at the CIC*** at Hartpury and 4th at Wilton in the Advanced.

Jeanette Brakewell, also left out of the team for Aachen with Over To You, dropped to second riding Equinox Sidewinder.

William Fox-Pitt, a member of the Silver Medal Team at the WEG riding Tamarillo, came home to ride Birthday Night to 3rd place at Blenheim on a score of 47.3.

Bonnie Mosser and Close The Deal, the only American pair to ride on Thursday, is tied for 7th with Richard Waygood. Both of their scores are 52.1.

(36 competitors completed their Dressage on Thursday.)
