None
of the American riders headed to the World Equestrian Games and none of the British,
Australian or New Zealand riders headed to the WEG, in Aachen, ran their WEG horses
Cross Country at the Championship of British Eventing. This
left the field wide open for the stay at homes and for WEG candidates with other
horses. Among
those in the top ten who are headed to the WEG are the winner, Australia's Clayton
Fredericks who will ride Ben Along Time in Aachen; Andrew Nicholson, in fourth
place for New Zealand, who takes either Lord Killinghurst or Tankersville to Germany:
and Oliver Townend, in sixth place, who will ride Flint Curtis for Great Britain
at the WEG. Final
