The
Laurels at Landhope is a Combined Driving Event, which is, in fact, a Three Day
Event for driven horses - singles, pairs and four-in-hands. Friday
was the equivalent of Dressage. Saturday will be the Marathon, which is the equivalent
of Three Day Cross Country, in which driven horses compete through a series of
complicated "Hazzards" in which they are timed. Sunday will be Cones,
the equivalent of Eventing Show Jumping - horses are driven through pairs of (traffic)
cones with balls placed on top. The object is to make the fastest time without
knocking any balls off of the traffic cones. The
Laurels can be accessed off Route # 1, via Newark Road North, to Spenser Road
West; to McCue Road south to Woodview Road West; or from Route # 1 , via Route
