Friday, July 7 - Dressage Day

Forty-one horse and rider combinations did their CICI*** Dressage tests Friday morning and Friday afternoon.

Canada's Kelli Temple, riding Paris, one of two Canadians, along with Ian Roberts and Napalm, who are heading to the World Equestrian Games, in Aachen, Germany, leads on a score of 40.0. (Kelli and Paris are pictured at the right.)

Kelli, who leads New Zealand's Donna Smith and Call Me Clifton by 1.7 faults, spoke of the Canadians plans for the WEG, "We leave on August 12th and will be based in Germany at the same place as the Australians. I can't remember its name and I can't pronounce it." (Donna and Call Me Clifton are pictured at the left below.)

Karl Slezak, who also rides for Canada, sits in third place a mere 6 faults adrift of the north of the border leaders.

Missy Ransehousen, of Unionville, Pennsylvania, stands fourth with her mother's Critical Decision. This pair scored 47.6. Missy said, "We didn't finish New Jersey. He hurt himself jumping the high side of the brush three from home. He had a huge reaction and his chest and between his hind legs were all burned and swollen. I want to keep on, - with him at this level because I'd like to go to the Pan Ams next year. Melissa Roddy (who rides with Missy), got me to come here. When she suggested it, I said, "That's 15 hours away!"
