Eventing Show Jumping began at 1:30 PM Local Time in Aachen, on Sunday.
Two
Americans jumped before the break prior the jumping for the top thirty.
Jan
Byyny and Task Force, standing in 44th place, had 12 jumping faults and no
time faults for a final score of 132.5 for 45th place.
Karen
O'Connor and Upstage, standing in 43rd place, had 8 jumping faults and no
time
faults for a final score of 127.8 for 42nd place. After
the break, the other Americans jumped in this order: Heidi
White and Northern Spy, standing in 29th place, had 8 jumping faults and no
time faults for a final score of 89.2 for 27th place. Will
Faudree and Antigua, standing in 19th place, had 4 jumping faults and no time
faults for a final score of 75.70 for 19th place. Kim
Severson and Winsome Adante, standing in 15th place, had 4 jumping faults
and no time faults for a final score of 71.70 for 17th place. Amy
Tryon and Poggio II, standing in seventh place, had 0 jumping faults and no
time faults to finish on 50.70 for 3rd place. (Amy and Poggio II are pictured
at the right above.) The
USA Team score was 198.10. The
three Australian riders had scores of 78.40, 70.10 and 48.80 for a total of 197.30,
thereby winning the team Bronze Medal by .80 of a fault - .80 of a fault!!! AMY
