It was a fantastic course which tested us all the way to the end. It will be amazing for us to jumping the big arena tomorrow. None of us have ever been in an arena like that. The going was fantastic. Some of the corners were a little bit slippery.

As to dicey moments, Zara said, "Mine would have been at the water - he crawled over the boat." Her father added, not in Zara's presence, "She was lucky at the water. She knew that she did not have time to go the long way at the last water and she did that very well."

Bettina Hoy, standing second, who lives at Gatcombe, the Princes Royal's estate with her huspand Andrew Hoy, and who coach Zara said,"We clmpete against the course. Who ever wins tomorrow will be a worthy World Champion."

As to what befell the Americans:

Amy Tryon and Poggio II, in 7th place, lead the third place American team on a double clear. (Amy and Poggio II are pictured landing in the first water. Notice Poggio looking for the next fence.)

Heidi White and Northern Spy were charged with a refusal at a skinny which she had never had any intention of jumping.
