Friday,
October 6th - Final Dressage Day
Heavy
rains Thursday night made "all weather" Dressage rings look more like
swimming pools and efforts to drain standing water were thwarted by the lighter
precipitation which continued throughout the day Friday.
There were two
notable scratches in the Advanced Sections - Mara Dean did not run Nicki Henley,
who had finished second in the Advanced at the AEC's, and Leslie Law (GBR) did
not bring Another Garrison to compete at Morven.
The
CCI competitors, with one exception - Christine Ehlers' Reggae Moon - simply slogged
on.
Clark
Montgomery and Up Spirit; Emily Beshear riding Baileywick; and Lucia Strina with
Liste de Folie (YR) lead Sections of the CIC* at Morven Park after th
e
Dressage Phase.
Stuart
Black leads Section 1 of the Advanced with Fleeceworks Starlight. (Stuart and

At Press Time, Missy
Ransehousen led Section 2 of the Advanced; however, William Coleman (who ended
up tied for eighth on 34.2) and A Second Hope; Kristin Bachmand with Gryffindor;
and Darren Chiacchia riding Better I Do It had all ridden nice tests whose scores
were not available. Saturday, October 7th - Darren did
win the Section with Better I Do It on a score of 29.3. (Darren and
Better I Do It are pictured at the lef tbelow.)Missy placed second on 31.3
in a three way tie along with Kristen Bachman and Hannah
Sue Burnett who rode Keep The Faith all on
31.3.
