Cross Country, Saturday, March 20

Advanced Section A:

Kim Severson and Tipperary Liadham, who led after Dressage, lead after the Cross Country Phase. (Kim and Tipperary Liadham are pictured at the right.)

This pair tied for the fastest time Cross Country in this Section, with Kelly Sult, who finished in fifth place. Kim moves forward into Sunday's Show Jumping with one fence in hand to win and two fences in hand to tie for first should Becky Holder jump a double clear in the stadium.

Holly Hudspeth is Holly Hepp's married name.

Inmidair is another of Jan Byyny's horses which Phillip is riding for Jan while she is indisposed.

Stephen Bradley and Coal Creek, normally Amy Tryon's ride, had a hard fall at the bounce out of the water. Both walked away seemingly unharmed.

Advanced Section B:

Will Faudree and Pawlow moved up from a tie for third to lead Advanced Section B on the strength of the fastest Cross Country run (by .8 of a second) of either of the Advanced Sections. (Will and Pawlow are pictured at the right.)

The top three in this section are within one Show Jumping knockdown of each other.

Phillip Dutton and Mrs. Annie Jones' The Foreman dropped from first place over night to third with 12.4 time faults on Cross Country. The plans for this pair include competing at the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton CCI**** in May.

Open Intermediate Results:

In Section A, Will Faudree and Andromaque lead from Julie Wolfert and Wonderee Merlin.

Doug Payne and Running Order, fourth after Dressage, fell after jumping off the island into the water. Neither appeared hurt as they walked from the water.

In Section B, Kelli Temple and Valentine lead from Phillip Dutton and Wild Tiger and Kristin Schmolze with Ballylaffin Bracken who are tied for second.
