Friday, March 19 - Dressage

Seven Dressage arenas ran simultaneously at Southern Pines on Friday - a positive feast, a banquet, an orgy, if you will, of Three Day Eventing Dressage.


Advanced A:

The top ten in Advanced Section A are all with in 8.6 faults of the leader Kim Severson and the precisely accurate gray, Tipperary Liadhnan. (Kim and Tipperary Liadhnan are pictured at the right.)

Mara Dean, fresh from a big victory at Red Hills with Nicki Henley, is in second place riding High Patriot, a mere 1.3 faults behind the leader

Advanced B:

Phillip Dutton , sixth in Section A, dominated Section B; not only winning the Section riding Mrs. Annie Jones' The Foreman; but, also placing in a tie for third place (Phillip rides Waterfront for Jan Byyny who was injured at a competition earlier in the season.) and in seventh place on Kheops du Quesnay. (Phillip and The Foreman are pictured at the right.)

Peter Barry and Kilrodan Abbott placed second in the Dressage phase.

Stephen Bradley rode both of Amy Tryon's horses, Leyland, who finished in a tie for ninth, and Coal Creek (in the A Section), who scored slightly lower than his stable mate. Amy has a bad knee. She was on the grounds but unable to ride.

Kassidy Kircher
and Umi (22.8) lead Open Intermediate Section A from Kelli Temple and Veelion (27.2) and Will Faudree and Andromaque (27.2).

Kelli Temple and Valentine (25.2) lead Open Intermediate Section B from Tiffani Loudon-Metze and Lo Fino (26.0) and Laura VanderVliet and Mighty Mangaroo (29.6).
