Editor's Note:

A familiar face on the International Dressage scene, Oded Shimoni, is a veteran of two World Equestrian Games, two European Championships and has qualified two horses for the Olympic Games. Oded divides his time in the United States between Pennsylvania in the summer season and Wellington, Florida for the winter season. This winter, Oded is training and teaching at Tuny Page’s world-class facility, Still Point Farm. (Oded is pictured at the right.)

Along with the promoting a few select sale horses, Oded accepts horses in training, conducts clinics, and naturally, teaches extensively. International recognition has brought demands from other trainers who want to benefit from the Oded’s success formula. He works with top riders including Tuny Page, Todd Flettrich, JJ Tate, Buck Davidson, Nancy Later, Silva Martin, Jason Canton and Mary Ann Grant. Oded also teaches a handful or Young Riders and competitive Adult Amateurs.

Along with extensive experience and consistent success, Oded always brings a sense of adventure to his training sessions. His love of the sport and enthusiasm is not lost on his students, whether two-legged or four!

He has had many successes for his native country of Isreal. Oded was the first Israeli to qualify for and compete in the World Equestrian Games (WEG). He made his first trip to WEG for the 1998 competition in Rome, Italy aboard the beautiful mare Amora. Oded returned to WEG in 2002 in Jerez, Spain on the Dutch Warmblood gelding, Glenstern. He went on to be the second person from his country to qualify for and compete in the European Championships, which he did in 2001, on Amora, and 2003, riding Glenstern. Always a strong competitor, Oded finished in the top half of the field in both WEG and the European Championships. Oded also became the first Israli dressage rider to qualify for the Olympic Games, which he did with two different horses for the 2004 Games.
