About a thousand more volunteers are needed to help with the expected 300,000 spectators durin the 16-day competition,acording to Erin Flaherty, director of volunteer srrvices for the Games. Thevolunteers will work as competition judges, ushers, parking attendants, and general information guides. (Editor's Comment" Working as a competitoin judge is about as likely as a spectator's getting free parking!)
Originally, Officials estimated they would need 10,000 volunteers, but they cut that number to 6,000 because not as manytickets have been sold as expected
